Transition Project, Abraham Moss High School

We spent the day with the staff and the up and coming year 7 pupils from Abraham Moss High School on a transition project in preparation for the new term.

We were asked to link geometry with printing so hey presto….check out the prints.

Everyone took part in different art forms including some mega drumming workshops with the Drumroots crew.

YOT & Zion Arts Centre

We ran two screen print workshops with young people in conjunction with the Youth Offending Team and Zion Arts Centre.

Each person created their own illustrated designs which they exposed onto silk screens and the group then printed these designs onto tshirts.

Even though this was the first time screen printing for everyone, both groups produced excellent work.

Winter Prints

one69a worked alongside other artists at the Zion Arts Centre to deliver schools linking projects. The aim of these taster workshops was to improve community cohesion by mixing pupils together from different primary schools and to give them an opportunity to experience different creative disciplines in a new environment.

Two of the linking schools asked if we could incorporate the theme of winter into the prints as both of these particular year 1 groups were currently studying “the seasons”. We chose snowflakes as these stencils create effective and beautiful prints which are easy to make with such a young age group.

We have worked with 18 schools and over 500 children in the past 5 weeks to deliver the schools linking workshops with more to come in the new year!!

Schools Linking Projects

one69a worked alongside other artists at the Zion Arts Centre to deliver schools linking projects. The aim of these taster workshops was to improve community cohesion by mixing pupils together from different primary schools and to give them an opportunity to experience different creative disciplines in a new environment.

The schools asked if we could somehow incorporate pupils names into the prints as this would be an important element when making new friends in these workshops.

Eco Schools

one69a worked alongside other artists at the Zion Arts Centre to deliver schools linking projects. The aim of these taster workshops was to improve community cohesion by mixing pupils together from different schools and to give them an opportunity to experience different creative disciplines in a new environment.

Both of these primary schools are working towards the “Eco School” status so we used this as a theme for our prints.

We ran two workshops during the day working with 60 pupils in total.

Schools Linking Projects

one69A teamed up with Zion Arts Centre to run two schools linking projects.

This involves several schools coming together to experience creative activities. Not only is this an excellent opportunity to encourage community cohesion, it is also a really cost effective way to run projects by linking schools.

As the pupils had most recently studied animals and their habitats and had also just been on a trip to chester zoo, we thought it would be great for them to print their own animal prints. These prints will go back to the respective schools and be made into a display.

The pupils took part in drumming, street dance and screen printing workshops and they all had a super time!!
