Introduction to Screen Printing – 6 Week Course (photosensitive process)

This 6 week course introduces and explores the technique of setting images onto silk screens using the photo sensitive process. You will have the opportunity to take your designs, drawings and ideas and transform them into screen prints. You will learn how to print two colour designs onto stock and single colour designs onto textiles and stock. There will be a range of fabric, papers, card and tee’s for you to use within the course fee.

The course is a great introduction to screen printing and allows you to get to grips with a basic understanding of the process. It is also a good starting point to show you how simple it can be to build a basic screen printing set up at home.

The course time-table is structured as follows.

Session 1
Introduction to equipment and materials

along with the different methods used to create designs. Coating silk-screens.
Session 2
Setting designs onto screens and single colour printing.
Session 3
2 colour screen prints onto stock.
Sessions 4, 5 & 6
Continuation of self initiated work along with 
experimentation and testing of ideas
