Islington Mill is a former cotton spinning mill in Salford, very close to Manchester’s city centre. Unlike much of Manchester’s industrial heritage, which has been converted into loft apartments, Islington Mill is now home to over 50 artists studios, an art gallery, a recording studio and a venue space.
We are able to facilitate workshops in the newly refurbished events space and gallery and participants will also have the opportunity for a tour of our commercial screen printing studio which is also based at Islington Mill.
Z Arts on Stretford Road in Hulme began life in 1911 as the Zion Institute built for the Congregational Church. The Institute comprised sixty rooms, including a magnificent hall of worship, an assembly hall, a gymnasium, games rooms, reading rooms and a canteen.
In more recent times, Z Arts has transformed into a mutli-art form venue which includes theatre, dance, visual arts, drama, sculpture, performance, music and more.
We are able to facilitate workshops in the spacious gallery and workshop area of the centre, this means we have the flexibility to work with larger groups.
